Emei was formerly known as "Moon Eyebrow" because the Emei River meanders here, forming a crescent-shaped landform, hence the name. During the administrative division adjustment during the Japanese colonial era, the name was changed to "Emei". In the early days, it prospered for producing camphor and tea known as "tea gold". Fuxing Old Street is not a tourist-oriented old street. The streets are spread out around Longsheng Temple, the local religious center, and it is a typical Hakka settlement.
